First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Olly Olly.
Revenue Operations Manager
After I applied, they emailed me saying I was moving to the next round, and I just had to finish a questionnaire. When I opened it, it was full of questions that should have been on the original application. I answered them and a week later on a Sunday, I got a rejection email. Their unprofessionalism was apparent in the autofilled name in all caps not just once but twice.
- What is your desired salary?
Head of Operations
The communication was a bit all over the place. They hit me with a pretty big assignment in the second stage, asking "how would you improve this page" and other things that took a few hours. Then I met with the two owners. One seemed checked out, looking at his screen, and the other was probably having a rough day. She asked some pretty wild questions about managing conflict, which made me wonder if that's a common thing there. She was also late and had to leave early for another meeting.
- What changes would you make to improve this page?
Paid Media Specialist
I applied online and had a phone screen within about a week. After that, I got a second interview with the hiring manager, but it was only 15 minutes. This new role was just created, so I thought the interview should have been longer so I could ask questions and learn more about the job. A week later, I got an email saying I wasn't qualified for the final interview with a founder. The whole process was bad, with little feedback and short interview times. I think interviews should be longer for both sides to get a better understanding of the role.
- Do you have experience with LSA's?
Account Executive
It was a standard interview process. First, I had a phone call with a recruiter. If that went well, I had another interview with a manager. They asked questions like 'tell me about yourself' and 'feedback you got from a former boss'. As long as you answer questions with specifics, you'll be fine. Be sure to prepare for the script read. You need to read the words on the paper and be confident with rebuttals. I read it in the mirror multiple times to make sure I sounded natural and it helped.
- Could you introduce yourself?
- What feedback have previous managers given you?
- Can you discuss feedback you've gotten from a former boss?
