First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at OLIVER Agency.
Content Administrator
This interview was the poorest one I’ve had. I logged onto the teams and the two people interviewing me were already in there but didn’t say hello or anything really awkward. So I started the conversation. Never had to do that before. They seemed completely unbothered so I assume they already had someone lined up. I found some questions hard to answer and they didn’t provide any clarity. They told me they would let me know the outcomes a few days later obviously I didn’t hear back.
- Could you start by telling us about yourself?
Content Manager
The process was clear but took a long time. There were 3 stages, and it took 3 weeks between each one. The HR person was very communicative. A good thing is that they didn't ask me to do a case study (work for free). A negative point is that the rejection email had no feedback and was from a non-reply address.
- Standard and technical questions related to the scope.
Copywriter
The interview process at OLIVER Agency involved multiple stages. It began with an HR phone screen, followed by two back-to-back one-on-one interviews with younger senior leadership at a coffeehouse. The first interviewer had a writing background, and the second was a business-oriented individual who seemed to disdain older employees. I was not invited for a third round, and the rejection email was generic and unhelpful. Throughout the process, key information about the role's responsibilities (sport or lifestyle categories) was withheld. The job posting seemed to be an overly ambitious wish list. There's a strong suspicion of age discrimination and potential nepotism in the hiring decision, given the age of the hired candidate and their university connection to another team member.
- Do you know about SEO?
- Can you tell us how your skills and achievements match what we're looking for?
- Which sports or lifestyle categories will this role cover?
