Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Old Mutual.
Sales Representative
I met with around 7 people for the interview and they were all really nice and professional. They started with some general interview questions, then asked about sales-specific stuff. They also asked what I expect to make for salary, and they really pushed for a number which made me uncomfortable.
- What salary range are you looking for?
Sales Representative
So for a sales role at Old Mutual, you start with a preliminary interview, then there's a physical interview, which is mostly competency-based, focusing on your skills and experience. After that, you'll interview with HR and the Line Manager. If you get through that, you'll have a second interview with the Head of Department. If you're selected for the next round, you'll have to do some tests.
- What are your salary expectations?
Direct Sales Representative
The interview process was pretty thorough. It included a panel interview with HR people and two senior managers. They asked questions to understand my character and check my technical skills. The only drawback was that they didn't seem to fully grasp the responsibilities of the role they were hiring for, possibly because it was a new position.
- How comfortable are you discussing pension fund adoption with company executives?
