It was a very casual interview, honestly borderline unprofessional. Two people were on the panel and they actually had their own conversation in the middle of the interview. They asked a few background questions, then got into the details of the job.

You'll start by sending in your application through their online careers portal. After that, a recruiter might get in touch, or you might have to do an online assessment. The first interview is with HR and the hiring manager, where they'll chat about your background, what motivates you, and if you're a good fit. Then, for Round 2, you'll interview with the Head of Department to go over your skills and experience in more detail. Depending on the role, there could be a third round, which might be a live test or another online assessment to see how you'd handle client interactions or specific tasks.

Confirmed questions3 questions
  • Can you describe a situation where you dealt with a challenging client?
  • What is your motivation for seeking employment with Old Mutual?

It was a good experience. They asked questions that were relevant and also gave me some advice about what to expect in this job as a financial advisor who will be on salary. They said it's important to have a car, so that's something to think about before applying.

  • Do you have sales experience, and if so, for how many years?
  • What was your performance like in your previous job, and what led to its end?
