First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Okland Construction.
Field Engineer
I went through three interviews, each with different people. The questions felt pretty repetitive across them all. It was important to be truthful, even if it didn't cast me in the best light. They seemed more interested in a good worker with a positive attitude than just someone with a strong resume.
- Tell me about a time you faced a conflict and how you handled it.
Project Coordinator
The interview felt rushed, like they didn't have the time or desire to conduct interviews. I wasn't told beforehand that more than one person would be interviewing me. Despite promises of follow-up from everyone involved, it never happened. Communication was lacking. I was also informed that the role wasn't accurately represented by the listing.
- What draws you to Okland and the construction industry?
- Would you be okay with assisting three different people simultaneously?
- Just to confirm, you know this is an administrative assistant job, not really a project coordinator role, right?
Project Engineer
The interview process was pretty standard. It started with a phone screen, then an in-person interview with the project manager and a project engineer. The final round was with a director. They asked common interview questions, but also some that were specific to the job I applied for. The whole thing took about 6 weeks.
- What makes you seek a new job opportunity?
Information Technology
HR called me in for the first interview at the office. It was a written test covering the OSI model and basic TCP/IP protocols and how they work. The next round was the last one. It was a face-to-face interview where they asked questions from my resume and we discussed my projects.
- Can you explain the OSI Model?
- What do you know about DNS?
- Describe DHCP.
