Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at OKG.
Product Designer
The interviewer seemed uninterested from the beginning. The hiring manager for Trading showed a lack of respect and professionalism. The questions asked felt inefficient, and the interviewer repeatedly asked the same questions, showing a lack of engagement through body language. This experience left me feeling disrespected and frustrated.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What are your thoughts on product strategy?
Product Designer
Interview process was HR -> Hiring Manager -> Take-home test -> HR again. The HR round focused more on background, motivation, and cultural fit. The other rounds focused more on technical aspects and product sense. The interview process was smooth and completed within 2 weeks.
- Have you worked with regional teams before?
Product Designer
The interview process for this design role was problematic. I wasn't given a design exercise after the first round. When I got to the panel interview, I was asked to present an exercise that I hadn't received. The recruiter also failed to set a date for the panel interview or send an invite, and I was later told I missed an interview I didn't know about. While I appreciate the company's goal of 'globalizing' and hiring non-Mandarin speakers, some interviewers' English was poor, making it hard to understand their questions, even after I tried to clarify. One panel interviewer seemed to have no English at all, which makes me wonder how they could evaluate candidates. It was one of my worst interview experiences.
- Can you share some challenges you've encountered?
