First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Ogilvy.
Associate Program Manager
The interview process started with 2 essay prompts, then moved on to 2 rounds of behavioral interviews, and finally a Super Saturday which was a full day of activities and group interviews. The first interview was with HR, and the second was with someone from my local office. Both of these interviews had about 7-10 questions and lasted 30 minutes. The questions were standard ones about achievements, dealing with authority, collaboration, and adapting to change, but there were a lot of them. They also tended to ask similar questions more than once in the same interview, so it's good to have a few different stories ready.
- Can you share an instance where a minor adjustment led to a significant outcome?
- Describe a situation where you differed with an established policy from a person in authority.
- Please recount an experience where you undertook tasks beyond your defined job responsibilities.
Program Manager
This was a super long and drawn-out process with really bad communication between me, HR, and the hiring team. Everything was done remotely through Zoom/Microsoft Teams. I started with a screening interview with HR/talent acquisition. Then, over a month, I had a crazy 7 more interviews with different team members. Each interview was pretty standard, with easy questions if you have project management experience and have worked in ad agencies before. I felt like all the interviews went well, and HR even gave me positive feedback. But then, weeks passed and I heard nothing. I was expecting a job offer after 8 interviews and all that good feedback. I reached out a few times, and finally, after another month, they told me they went with someone else. It's wild because I've never had that many interviews and gotten that far only to be ghosted. It's a shame because Ogilvy has some really smart and dynamic people, and they're leaders in advertising. They were high on my list of companies to interview with. But it's clear they don't have an organized interview structure and don't really respect candidates' time.
- Can you describe your experience collaborating with cross-functional teams?
Associate Program Manager
After submitting my application, I was invited to a first round interview. It was a quick and simple chat with about 5 behavioral questions. After that, there was the business interview with professionals in the field. Then, COVID happened and things changed.
- Can you share an instance where you encountered a challenge and describe your approach to resolving it?
