Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Office for Metropolitan Architecture.
Intern
We had a 30-minute Zoom call with two senior architects. I presented my portfolio and had to answer three questions. They asked why I wanted to work at oma, and I presented two projects from my portfolio. We also talked about my resume and past work experience.
- Why do you want to work for oma?
- What is your best or favourite project from your portfolio?
- Why Oma Rotterdam?
Internship
Interviews are held over Skype with two interviewers. If you're interviewing for a role above junior designer or summer intern, Shohei will interview you alongside another person. There can be multiple interviews or just one; I only had one, though others had a few rounds. It was supposed to be about 30 minutes, but mine finished really early.
- Can you tell me about your favorite projects from your portfolio?
- What were your responsibilities during your previous internship or work experience?
Intern
I applied back in February 2018 and they got back to me pretty quickly, maybe a week or two later, with an interview. It was a Skype call with two interviewers who asked me some questions. They started off asking me to introduce myself and then wanted to hear about the projects I've done, specifically the ones in my portfolio.
- Could you share some information about your background?
- What makes you interested in working at OMA?
