Applied online, had a phone interview with HR, then another phone interview with a nurse on the unit. Went on a shadow shift. Then had an in-person interview with the unit manager who said she'd make a decision by the next Wednesday and I should hear back by Friday. I missed a call from HR the Tuesday before and tried calling back for 3 weeks. Also tried contacting the unit manager. Finally got ahold of the manager and was told I was still in the running but they were still interviewing. The recruiter called the Monday after, 3 weeks since her first call, and said the job was filled.

I interviewed with the education manager on the med/tele step down unit for pre/post transplant patients. Then I did a shadow shift for about 45 mins to 1 hour to see if I would like working on the unit. No questions were asked during this time. I was told to wear scrubs, but not from any particular hospital. Finally, I had a laid back, informal peer interview with 3 nurses from the floor where they each asked me 2-3 questions.

HR called me first to help me find a unit. Then, I had a quick phone chat with HR. After that, the unit director called me for a phone interview. Later, I had an in-person meeting with the unit director and also got to shadow a RN on the floor for about an hour. This time allowed me to ask questions and see if the unit was a good fit for me. The unit director also used this as a way to do a 'peer interview.'
