OCHIN Analyst Interview Questions
& Process

I applied online. The process started with a short phone call with HR, then there were 2 in-person interviews. About a week after the final interview, I received an offer. The offer was okay, but lower than I expected given my experience and previous salary. The director I spoke with mentioned there was flexibility on the base salary, so I told them the range I was looking for (9-15% more). The director then suggested I look at the benefits before we discussed salary again. I was keen to talk salary after reviewing the benefits, but that conversation never happened. Instead, I got an email from the director saying they couldn't meet my requested salary range and wished me luck. The offer was withdrawn without a follow-up discussion. I emailed the director to clarify that the range I gave was a guideline based on my pay history and local market rates, not a hard requirement. A few days later, the director replied saying OCHIN didn't want to start a business relationship with a significant pay expectation gap. I found their mixed signals and salary negotiation approach quite unprofessional and frankly irrational, making it a very negative interview experience.

It was not a good interview experience. I had a phone interview with a recruiter and then a Zoom interview with a hiring manager, and both seemed to go well. They said I'd get an invite for a team interview the following week, but it never happened. I wasn't kept in the loop and actually thought I was being ghosted because I didn't get any responses to my emails over a few weeks. Eventually, after several weeks, I got a call saying the position was filled. So, I didn't even get a proper chance to finish the interview process. I would have been fine if I'd made it to the end and they chose someone else, but I never even got that opportunity. I was really excited about the possibility of working there, but now I'm not sure I even want to try. I found the whole thing very unprofessional.

I applied online and the whole process took about 4 weeks. There were three rounds of interviews. The first was with the Sr. Recruiter, the next with the Hiring Manager and a couple of team members, and the final one with the Hiring Manager and Senior Leadership. Everyone was friendly and made me feel comfortable. It was professional and informative, yet not stuffy or overly formal. They gave me an accurate description of the position and working at OCHIN. They took turns asking "Tell me about a time..." types of questions, all very applicable to the position I was applying for. They took the time to answer all of my questions. I knew I wanted the job after round one, so I'm thankful that I was eventually offered it!
