Software Engineer
The interview process had 4 stages. First were technical questions about java, immutable, async programming, and collections. Then there was a coding part focusing on algorithms, sorting, grouping, and writing tests. After that, a system design round where I was asked about designing a link shortener service, performance, scalability, and storage. Finally, I spoke with the manager and team leader.
- Could you explain the internal workings of a HashMap?
- Can you tell me about immutable objects in Java?
- What is async programming and how does it work?
Software Engineer
You start with an application where you submit your CV and answer some short questions. After that, there's a technical screening that involves LeetCode easy and medium problems, specifically with dynamic programming. Then comes a video interview with about four or five questions, where you get a minute to prep and three minutes to answer each. Finally, there's a virtual assessment centre.
- Solve a LeetCode easy problem.
- Solve a LeetCode medium problem focusing on dynamic programming.
- Answer a question in the video interview, with 1 minute preparation and 3 minutes to respond.
Software Engineer
The interview process was good and transparent, I went through 5 or 6 rounds which included coding and design interviews. The coding rounds had 2 questions that were array based and backtracking based. It was a nice experience overall because the interviewers were knowledgeable and kind. All interviews went well and I got the offer letter. However, the worst part is that they do not support with relocation, visa, health insurance, travel, or taxi and hotel expenses. You are on your own, and migrating to the UK with your family is a significant expense out of pocket. So I joined another company that offered double the salary and full relocation support. I don't understand why some organizations play games and avoid providing relocation benefits, especially UK ones, in such a competitive job market.
- Tell me about array based problems.
- Can you solve backtracking based problems?
