We had 2 group exercises and a 1-to-1 interview. One technical part involved using Excel to interpret data, and the other parts were teamwork based. The process felt long, but the people were really friendly. The 1-to-1 involved a 5-minute presentation followed by some basic questions.

So I started with the online application, sent in my CV, cover letter and answered one question. Then there were two online tests, one was math and the other a personality test. About two weeks later I got a call for a telephone interview, lasted about 15 mins. They asked me competency-based questions about Ocado's four values, and what I knew about the company and where I'd fit best. Just a couple days later, I was at their assessment centre. It had a technical test (lots of short electrical and mechanical engineering questions), a face-to-face interview which was like the phone one but needed more detail and more examples, a group exercise which was quick so you had to be fast and speak up a lot, and a presentation where you had 15 mins to look at some data and then 5 mins to present your findings. I found that part tricky because it felt like electrical engineering and analysing data quickly. But overall, it was a good experience, everyone was really nice, and it made us all feel comfortable and not nervous.
