Project Manager
It was a video interview first, then an in person one. The first interview gave me a chance to see the questions and plan my answers. I could also redo up to three answers. Overall it was a good experience.
- Tell me what you know about Ocado.
Project Manager
Had a telephone interview with a Recruiter first, then a F2F interview with people from the Dept, and finally another F2F interview with the Department Head and Business Head. They said I'd get feedback 5 days after the last interview, but I had to chase them after 7 days. I finally got a response and an offer 14 days later.
- Could you walk me through your CV?
- Can you answer some general competency questions?
- Describe a challenging project that fell behind schedule and explain how you managed the delay.
Project Manager
The interview process involved a phone interview, an online ability test, and then a face-to-face interview at the Erith CFC. The interview itself was pretty good, with a relaxed vibe, nice discussion, and a tour of the facility. But the overall process was quite disappointing. I applied in early October 2019 and heard nothing for three weeks. After sending a few follow-up emails, I had a video call interview in mid-November 2019. Then, another three-week wait with no response. I sent another follow-up email and immediately got an invitation for a full interview at the CFC in mid-December. After that interview, I had to wait another three weeks and send more follow-up emails to get any feedback. Finally, I received a generic rejection saying the position was filled. It took exactly 3 months and 2 days from application to rejection, which I think is a really poor timeline, especially for a company hiring so many engineers. It's put me off applying for other roles there.
- Can you present your previous project?
- Can you discuss your experience with process improvement methodologies like Lean and Six Sigma tools?
