Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Oak Hill Advisors.
Summer Analyst
It wasn't too tough. Mostly behavioral questions and resume-based questions like telling your story. Some basic accounting questions too, so you gotta know the three financial statements and how they link together.
- Can you introduce yourself and go over your resume?
- Can you explain the basic accounting questions?
- Can you explain how the three financial statements interact?
Summer Analyst
The interview process was quite smooth. It started with a first round that was solely focused on behavioral and fit questions. The second round included a combination of fit and technical questions. After that, I had a superday, which involved three to four interviews back-to-back. It felt like it took too long to get through them.
- If you had $1M to invest, what would be your strategy?
Summer Analyst
I had a zoom interview that was 1 on 1. It covered fit questions and general background info, along with general technical questions testing economics and finance knowledge. Topics included taking EBITDA to free cash flow, monetary and fiscal policy, and brain teasers.
- Could you walk me through the calculation of free cash flow starting from EBITDA?
- Please explain the concepts of monetary policy and fiscal policy.
- Can you solve some brain teasers?
