First, you apply on their website. Then your application goes into a local applicant pool. So, the first interview you get might not be for the store you wanted. After you interview and sign papers to let them check your background (driving record included), you gotta wait. I waited about one to two weeks for an offer. I'm not sure how it went for others, but after I got the offer, I had to interview two more times because the original manager got fired. The interview part was pretty straightforward. The waiting was the hardest part.

Applied online, got a call back within a week from a store across town. They were cool about me wanting the one closest to my home and suggested I go there and ask about the job or give them a quick call. So I did. Had a quick informal chat, then a drug test, and a background check that included looking at my driving history since it's a delivery driver gig. My original hiring manager got terminated halfway through, so I had a second interview. Started about a week after that. Took about two weeks total from applying to starting because of that second interview. Dress at least business casual. For the first interview, I wore a dress shirt, khakis, and dress shoes. For the second, a dressy plaid long-sleeve shirt with khakis and dress shoes. They said they liked that I dressed the part of someone looking for a job. So appearance is important.

I already had the job secured before my official interview because I knew the store manager. I initially applied for a delivery driver role, but they offered me a stock and inventory specialist position instead. This quickly evolved into an installer sales specialist role once they recognized my natural talent for selling parts to customers, both in person and over the phone.
