The interview process started with a manager round as the first stage, followed by a coding round as the second. There were three additional rounds after clearing those. I wasn’t able to get past the coding round. The problem itself would feel easy if you had seen it before, but it was classified as a hard-level LeetCode problem — essentially, merging multiple sorted streams using a heap (a variation of merge sort)

I applied online and got through to the first round. Then, I was successful for round two, the 1:1 interview with the hiring manager. This interview was late at night UK time as he was in the US, which was fine by me. I thought it went really well and I connected with the interviewer, feeling like I met all the requirements. Sadly, I didn't move forward as the team decided against my candidacy for the role at this time. I didn't get any feedback, and when I asked, I was ignored.

I had a quick 30 min call with the Technical Recruiter who was very helpful, followed by an introductory call with the Hiring Manager. Unfortunately, the Hiring Manager dismissed me immediately after hearing my high-level overview of my background without giving me a chance to elaborate on my actual professional experience and skills, which matched the job description well. Either the Hiring Manager already had another candidate in mind for the position and so wanted to get the conversation over as soon as possible, or he made a rapid, highly biased judgment of me. On asking for any further details on why he feels I wouldn't be a good fit, I was given a very vague answer related to my experience. I can accept this if he gave me even a small chance to discuss my previous roles, or if he provided any details on how he thought my background did not fit the position. In the end, I just felt disrespected and unfairly judged.

Got a ping from a recruiter about this gig. Had two chats with them, one to kick things off and another for interview prep. Then, I hopped on a 30-min phone call with the hiring manager. Honestly, I was pretty stoked to connect with her, but she just seemed kinda uninterested, like she was just reading off a list of questions without really paying attention to my answers. Also, there seemed to be some mix-up about the OTE, with the recruiter and the hiring manager giving different figures. She hit me with the salary expectations question super early, even though I'd already told the recruiter. By the end of our call, she mentioned she'd circle back with their internal recruiter about the next steps in a few days. I shot over a follow-up email right away and never heard back. It felt pretty disorganized, like a new team.
