Everyone was really nice in every round! The interview was pretty chill, they asked about why I wanted the job, what I've done before, and what I'd do in certain made-up scenarios. It was 3 rounds total, and I met with people progressively higher up the management chain.

So, I went through 2 rounds of interviews, submitted work samples, and provided references, but then I got ghosted. A whole month went by after sending references and I heard nothing back. I tried reaching out to the interviewers directly, but still no response. The first interview was with a Unit Head and it was behavioral, including a scenario question. The second interview was with another Unit Head and some higher-ups, and it was all behavioral and pretty straightforward. After that, they asked for three work samples and three references. Looks like they just ghosted me. They also seemed pretty disorganized. Like, after the first interview, they invited me for the second round the same night with a few time options. I picked a time for the next week. On the day I picked, I thought it was canceled, but then I got an email confirming it a few hours before. They said it was due to 'technical difficulties.' Just be prepared to be ghosted, even if they ask for references.

I sent my resume and cover letter to HR in February and got contacted in May for an interview. It was a phone interview with three people from the CDBG-DR section of OMB. It was hard to hear them and the questions weren't that good, except for the standard 'Why do you want to work here?'. I didn't hear back until the end of May when HR emailed me to fill out an application form, but they didn't explain why. I asked HR a few days later when I'd hear back and they ghosted me. Super unprofessional and disrespectful. Don't waste your time with this office.
