First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Nucor.
Environmental Engineer
After I applied online, I had an in-person interview at the manufacturing site. I talked with three people from the team, and one of them was going to be my supervisor. After the interview, they gave me a quick tour and asked if I wanted to stay for lunch, which they provided. I never heard back after that, and I found out I didn't get the job from an automated message.
- Can you explain how your background aligns with the requirements of this role?
Structural Engineer
So the interview has two parts. First, there's a structural quiz, which is pretty easy if you study up a bit. Then, there's a second quiz with a lot of questions, but it's impossible to finish in the 3 minutes they give you. After that, they just ask personal questions and some about school to get to know you better. What I didn't like is they wouldn't tell me where the internship was, just that it was in a small town. It was kinda annoying they weren't more direct with applicants.
- Which class did you enjoy the most?
- Which class did you struggle with the most?
Structural Engineer
It was one behavior interview, you get the feedback after that and then technical Interview, the last one is on site interview. There are multiple quick phone interviews in between these formal interviews.
- Can you tell me about a typical day in your current role?
