It was a 4 stage process. First was a phone screening with HR, then an interview with a team member, followed by an interview with my line manager, and finally an interview with the head of department. Since it was a remote position, all interviews were conducted online. There was about a week between each interview.

The overall interview experience was okay, not great but not bad. The recruiter did a good job organizing things and calling me back promptly. I had a few rounds of interviews: phone, Skype, and then an in-person one with the hiring manager and the recruiting staff. They asked mostly standard questions about my past work experience and what I'd done in previous roles. The final round had some really weird and out-of-place questions that made me question if I even wanted the job. A lot of situational and behavioral questions were asked. The rejection email felt generic and impersonal, which was disappointing after going through several interview stages.

I got a call from HR who introduced himself and expressed interest. He set up a 30-minute phone screen for later that week to discuss my education, background, and experience. A few days later, the company called to arrange a face-to-face interview with the hiring manager at their headquarters. It was a friendly environment. We had a group interview with two of their team members simultaneously. It was nice to interact and communicate well. There weren't any tricky questions, just a good chance for an honest exchange of opinions and experiences.
