Management
I had an initial call with the recruiter that was set up the same day as the initial email. We had a great conversation, and even though I didn't have direct experience, they assured me I was a great fit. A Zoom interview was scheduled for the next day with the hiring manager. When the time came, there was no Zoom link, but the manager called me, and it turned into a phone interview. She spent about 15 minutes reiterating what the position entailed. Then she asked about my experience but stopped me midway, saying I lacked the necessary experience. She mentioned I was the first person interviewed and used that as a reason for wasting my time.
- Can you tell me about your background and experience?
Sales Representative
I first connected with someone at the company on LinkedIn who then referred me to Cheryl, a Talent Acquisition Specialist. After a 20-minute phone screen with Cheryl, where she shared more about the role and prepped me for the next interview, I spoke with Lauren, the Sales Manager. She was really nice and knowledgeable. This was followed by an in-person interview with Lauren that lasted about 1.5 hours, focusing on my sales abilities through role-playing, which went well. Then, I had a brief 20-minute interview with Chadd, the VP of Sales. A day later, I received an offer for an entry-level sales rep position, which I declined as it wasn't what I was looking for. Cheryl followed up after each interview, which was great, and assisted me throughout the process. The company communicates very well.
- Is a commission-based job something you're comfortable with?
- Tell me about your activities outside of work.
Recruiter
It was pretty straightforward. I got a call for a phone screen, and then had a one on one with the Director. They let me know the decision within a week over the phone. No complicated steps or surprises, just professional and direct.
- Can you discuss your overall experience?
- What drives you?
- How do you approach your search efforts?
Remodeling Consultant
It was a normal process, like many other sales interviews I've done. They mostly asked questions and did some small talk to get to know me and my background. They wanted to understand how I sell, how I get leads, and how I close deals.
- Can you tell me about your previous work experience?
