Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NTT DATA.
Consultant
It was a 5-round interview process. 2 rounds were case study solving, and 3 rounds were behavioral interviews with HR and top management. The interviews were average difficulty. You really need to know the main consulting frameworks for the case studies. The behavioral interviews were pretty standard, focusing on your typical strengths and weaknesses.
- What is the daily transit volume of airplanes at Barcelona's airport?
Consultant
The interview process involved four rounds which were generally straightforward. Most were behavioral, with one technical interview. Despite positive initial contact, I was ghosted after the final round. One interviewer made a condescending remark about my university not being a 'target school,' which felt unwarranted given their initial outreach based on my qualifications. While I might have declined an offer due to a lack of cultural fit, being ghosted is unacceptable.
- What prompted you to apply to NTT Data?
Consultant
This company has got to be the most unprofessional and unethical one I've ever worked with as a consultant. I've gone through their interview process twice now. Both times, I aced every single interview, including the last one with the client. The VP at NTT Data and the Director at their client's site both gave me great feedback, saying they were impressed with my skills, experience, and achievements and felt I was a perfect fit. But then, their PMs and other junior staff just went silent for weeks, ignoring my follow-ups. Finally, they hit me with this absurd excuse about my university diploma not being up to par. And this is from a university whose alumni include presidents and world leaders! So, the diploma that's good enough to lead a country apparently isn't good enough for a consultant role at NTT Data. They need to come up with better excuses next time.
