The process started with an initial call from the internal recruiter, following a few emails about salary expectations and experience. The recruiter covered various aspects of the role. When it came to asking questions, concerns arose. Regarding company culture, the response was informal, focusing on after-work pub visits and being a 'good bunch of people,' with no mention of leadership, values, community impact, or brand embodiment, and notably absent from their website. In terms of the sales process, the recruiter mentioned a scaling mission, but surprisingly, there's no CRM, and it's not planned. Essential sales tools are not prioritized for investment, despite being an IT company. The salary offered was £25k lower than expected, even though they had previously asked for my expectations. The owner is heavily involved with the sales team, potentially through micromanagement and high-pressure tactics. While the company is established with ambitious goals, the impression is a reluctance to invest financially to achieve them, focusing instead on cost-saving.

Received an outreach via LinkedIn, followed by an email with the job description and additional details. We scheduled a phone interview. The first interview lasted about 40 minutes, covering company data, job requirements, clarifying expectations, and several questions. There were 2 rounds of interviews in total. The second interview was online with company representatives, including the operations manager for the location. We discussed my experience, exchanged questions, and went through simulation examples. I heard back via phone within two weeks, with clear steps outlined, leading to negotiation and agreement, followed by email communication.

I talked to the hiring manager and he mentioned I was overqualified. I thought that was it. But then, 2 days later, his boss wanted to meet virtually. The interview went great, and they asked me to do a challenge. I didn't hear anything for 3 weeks, so I assumed they hired someone else. Then, out of nowhere, exactly 3 weeks later, I got an email with a 'challenge' that seemed to be asking for all the internal work this job was supposed to do. I politely said no to giving them a lot of documents in just two days.

I applied for the job on Craigslist and got a call the very next day. We had a quick 20-minute chat. After that, they sent over two online tests via email, which I completed. Even before that, a face-to-face interview was set up for the next day. In the face-to-face, there wasn't too much; I took a 20-question objective test. I'd say the difficulty was medium, and it was mostly about computers, especially the hardware side. I scored well on it.
