Accountant
So I spoke with someone, but it ended weirdly. They said they don't have openings now but are 'gearing up' for a new contract, so basically, I'm hired but not hired. Then they told me everyone has to act as sales staff and bring in clients or get repeat business. They suggested selling services to existing customers that aren't really needed, which could be a conflict of interest and get my CPA license pulled, or worse, be fraud. They also said if you don't bring in new work, you're fired even if you do great. That was a dealbreaker for me. Also, I'd have to drive 100 miles each way daily, on my own dime, which isn't 'built into the salary.' They're likely billing the client for travel and keeping it. To top it off, I checked and 3 clients listed on their website have never heard of them. Did they really think no one would check?
- Are you able to handle multiple projects while staying focused?
- Are you able to travel?
Accounting Staff
It was a three step interview process. First, I had a call with the Recruiting director. Then, within a week of that call, I had two interviews with the Accounting Manager. After I was hired, I received my employment packet to complete and sign. On my first day, my workstation was ready and easy to access so I could start working right away.
- In what ways did you make a positive impact on a previous employer's life?
Accountant
It was a quick walk through about the work conditions there. Basically, interviewer was trying to figure out if I am comfortable or not working long hours without getting paid. He was very quick to ask there four questions. I believe a pause before an answer was assumed that I am not comfortable working specially on weekends.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
- Are you willing to work extra hours, including nights and weekends?
- Would you be okay with working extra hours without getting paid?
