Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Novanta.
Engineer
got an email from the recruiter with a few questions, i answered them and they got back to me in a few days to set up an interview with the hiring manager. then had an onsite interview and got the offer about 2 weeks later.
- Can you tell me about yourself and walk me through your resume?
Project Engineer
I recently went through the application process for Project Engineer at WOM/Novanta, which had four rounds spread out over several weeks. It started with a 40-minute HR interview, then a 1-hour "get to know the candidate" chat with the Director. After that, there was a 2-hour technical round with a Senior Engineer, the Director, and HR. The process wrapped up with a 30-minute final conversation with a Senior Director. Throughout this, they kept saying how much they value transparency and open communication. But after it was all done, I just got general feedback that someone else had more relevant experience. It felt a bit weird because the job was posted again the very next day. I've emailed a few times asking for specific feedback to help me grow, but no reply. I'm fine with not getting the job, that's part of it. But the lack of useful feedback and communication after investing so much time was disappointing. If they expect transparency from us, they should show it too. Honestly, the whole thing felt inconsistent and, unfortunately, not very genuine.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- Could you elaborate on your past experiences?
