Project Manager
I started with a call from the HR manager. Then, I had an in-person interview with the Department Head and Regional Manager. It seemed like a good interview. They said they'd let me know, but it's a bummer I never heard back via email or phone. After three weeks, I checked the NOV careers page and found out I wasn't selected. It was disappointing since they had me drive 170km for the interview, even though they had officers closer by.
- Can you tell me about your knowledge of Condition Based Monitoring (CBM)?
- Describe a time you made a mistake in a previous role.
- What is your approach to managing several projects at the same time?
Project Manager
I had an interview for the job and it went great. Then I had an in-person interview at their corporate office. The next day they offered me the job and explained pay and benefits. They said I'd get a written offer letter the following day. After waiting over 2 weeks, HR emailed saying they were rescinding the verbal offer due to unforeseen business demands. I found this really unprofessional from NOV, especially since I worked hard for the interview and my family was excited. I was close to giving my 2 weeks' notice because the hiring manager was so communicative about the offer. NOV HR should be more professional and not offer jobs they can't fulfill. It's unethical and emotionally taxing.
- Discuss various project management methodologies you've used.
Project Manager
I transferred from a sister NOV company. I sent my resume to the Chief Project Manager and HR Manager. They called me for an initial phone interview. A few days later, I went in person and filled out a paper application. I spoke with the Chief Project Manager for about 45 minutes and got a tour of the plant. Then, I talked with the Operations Manager for about 20 minutes. We finished up in the Chief Project Manager's office to go over any last questions and comments. The entire thing took under 2 hours.
- Are you able to collaborate effectively with diverse groups and coordinate inter-departmental efforts?
