It was a half hour zoom screening where they asked basic questions about my schoolwork curriculum, research, extra curricular involvement and personality screening questions. Then, the second interview was in person, which was a 2 hour in depth discussion of my experience and they asked about 10 FE questions to be solved on a whiteboard without external information.

It began with a phone call to see if I wanted to interview. HR then reached out to discuss the next steps, including salary expectations and who I'd be meeting with. Following that, the hiring manager for the team connected with me to go over the role in more detail, what they were looking for, what my interests were, and we had a good chat about the job.

My interview experience with NOV was quite unprofessional. I traveled a significant distance for the interview without reimbursement, only to find out upon arrival that HR had made a mistake and I was being interviewed for a different position than I had applied for. This turned out to be a design role, which I preferred. The interview itself was 3 hours long and seemed to go well. I met with the Department Manager, Team Manager, and a potential future colleague. They expressed they were impressed and gave me an application to complete. I submitted it promptly and was told I'd hear back within three weeks. After three weeks with no word, I followed up and was informed that summer vacations were causing delays. I've followed up several times over the past month with both the HR agent and the engineer I spoke with, but have received no response. I've since accepted a position with a respected aerospace defense company, which I see as a step up from NOV. While I have no hard feelings, my experience suggests NOV is unprofessional and disorganized.
