First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NOV.
Applications Engineer
The interview process had 3 rounds: a phone call, an in-person meeting with three interviewers, and a take-home test. The test wasn't overly difficult, requiring some thought and less than two hours to complete. It challenged me to think creatively with the provided information, which accurately reflected the actual job.
- How would you manage if you received one million emails?
Applications Engineer
So there were two other people there with me. The hiring manager, who was also the one with HR duties, started by asking me some personal questions before we moved on to the technical part. I had to get familiar with a totally new completion tool's instruction booklet and then had about 10-15 minutes to present it. The person in charge of the technical side threw in a few questions at the beginning, middle, and end of my presentation. After I was done, they asked for the paperwork, showed me around the place, and told me about what they do.
- Can you introduce yourself?
- What are your career aspirations for the next five years?
- What kind of activities do you enjoy?
Applications Engineer
It started with a phone call, then a face to face interview. The phone round was pretty basic, covering C# and SQL, with about 5 questions for each. The in-person interview lasted for an hour.
- Were you asked logic based questions in C#?
- Were you asked to write code in C# to solve a problem?
- Were you asked to write sql for a specific problem?
