Treat Notable as practice, not a real job. Good experience until the manager interview. The manager seemed distracted by Slack during the interview, asking me to repeat myself. It felt like the interview was over then, a waste of time. Slogged through to the end. Manager had poor questions and made assumptions, showing no prep. Didn't follow up since I knew the outcome. Had a cool phone chat with a recruiter about their product. Then, got a take-home challenge to build a small full-stack app with 2 GET APIs, suggesting about 2 hours to complete. I went a bit over the time limit because I decided to add a database, which I felt was a better, more scalable choice than hardcoded data. I also threw in 2 extra features and tried to make it look good. Got a very short rejection email a few days later, which felt like a bummer given the extra effort. Reached out for feedback but got no response, making it feel like a waste of time. The assignment itself isn't super hard, just be comfy with your chosen tech stack to avoid setup and debugging delays.
