Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Northwell Health.
Program Manager
I had a 15-minute initial interview in May 2025. They said I'd hear back in two weeks but it took them over a month, not getting back to me until June 2025 to say they'd gone with other candidates. The interview itself was friendly and easy, but the delay in communication after they missed their own deadline really soured the experience for me.
- Can you tell me about your previous experience managing programs related to health?
Program Manager
The communication during the interview process was not great. I had to chase them for updates multiple times, even after being told I got the job. It seemed like the recruiter and the department head weren't on the same page. I did end up accepting the offer, but it was stressful trying to get basic info like my start date.
- Can you tell me about yourself?
Program Manager
I applied online through the website on June 28, and heard back from the recruiter on July 27, letting me know I was selected for an interview. The whole process involved three interviews over two weeks, all done virtually. The first interview was with the Director and the team I would be working with directly. The second interview was with two department heads I would work with regularly. The last interview was with a third department head who couldn't make the second interview date. The conversations were great, and everyone I spoke with was easy to talk to, making me feel at ease in each interview. About a week after my last interview, on August 25, the recruiter called with an offer. There are 4 weeks of onboarding, so from application to start date is 3 months. It was well worth the time and patience!
- Can you introduce yourself and tell us about yourself?
- What are three words that best describe you?
- Describe a time you dealt with conflict.
