First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Northside Independent School District.
Teacher
It was a simple, single interview with the principal and vice principal. It took about thirty minutes. They asked very basic questions and reviewed my resume. The questions were about my certifications and what subjects I'd want to teach.
- What makes you want to teach?
- Can you tell me about your certifications?
- Which subjects are you interested in teaching?
Music Teacher
I submitted my resume and a cover letter to the district back in March. By May, I got a call from a school wanting to set up an interview. I met with the team lead, the assistant principal, and the principal. They asked fair, direct questions, nothing too surprising. They also let me ask questions of my own.
- How can you contribute to the growth of our music program?
Teacher
Talked to HR at a job fair. They asked which district extended an offer to me. I didn't want to answer in front of everyone, so I declined. The HR person guessed the district based on how I was interviewing, and then announced it, saying how smart she was. That's when I knew it wasn't the right fit for me.
