Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NorthMarq Capital.
Intern
Went through a phone interview and then an in-person interview. The people were really nice and asked the usual job questions. The interviewers were supportive and smart. Make sure to have your quantitative stories ready. Job fairs are a good way to initially connect with the company.
- Can you describe a situation where you worked as part of a group and what the outcome was?
Intern
I applied online and about two weeks later, HR emailed me. I did a personality survey and then a week after that, I had a virtual interview with six people. The first three talked to me for 30 minutes, then another three joined. We talked about my resume and leadership experience. Everyone was nice except one person who seemed unfriendly, so I decided not to continue.
- Can you walk me through your resume?
- What's one word your friends would use to describe you?
- What role do you typically take on in a team?
Intern
First, there was a phone interview, and then we had a formal in-office interview. The in-person interview was with two people. It was a pretty straightforward process, and they communicated and followed up constantly. I was kept in touch with by the recruiter and hiring leads.
- Can you tell me about your strengths?
- What about your weaknesses?
- What are things you like?
