Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at NorthMarq Capital.
Analyst
Had an initial HR phone screening, then a Teams meeting with the department head. These two rounds happened quickly, and then I was ghosted with no feedback from HR. The interviewers were nice and knowledgeable, and the process itself was smooth.
- Why are you interested in Northmarq?
- Can you describe your background and how it aligns with the underwriting and due diligence duties of this role?
Analyst
I had an initial phone screen with HR. It seemed to be going okay until I mentioned I'm interviewing elsewhere. The HR person got really impatient and rude. When I started asking about the role and the work, they asked me twice if I'd read the job posting and implied I might be confusing it with another company's role. I checked the job posting and the info I had, and it didn't have the details I was asking about. I've never seen such unprofessionalism.
- What's making you want to leave your current job?
Analyst
I went through 3 interviews, and they all seemed to go really well. The weirdest part was in the last interview, they told me I was the most qualified candidate, but then I didn't get an offer. It was super shocking to hear I was the best fit but then get rejected.
- Tell me about your previous work experiences.
- Describe a situation you encountered.
- What did you do in your past jobs?
