Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Northeastern University.
Project Manager
I chatted with a recruiter first. Then I had a 30-minute phone call with the hiring manager. After that, I came in for a few hours of in-person interviews. The actual interview process was fast, but getting hired as a contractor took a while. It's also typical for contractors to have to apply for full-time roles. When I applied to convert to full-time, I went through a long interview process and then waited months to hear back. It was pretty stressful.
No confirmed questions were included in this interview report.
Program Assistant
I submitted my CV and got an email from my supervisor within a couple of days. We then met in person. During the meeting, I was asked some basic questions about my education and past experience, followed by more specific questions about my technical skills. The interview felt pretty informal, and everyone was friendly.
- Can you tell me about your skills and knowledge regarding specific software?
Program Assistant
The interview process was super quick. I only had one interview and found out 3 days later that I got the job. The process is pretty easy, and they email you pretty quickly to let you know if you're moving on. You do need to send in a cover letter and resume.
- Can you share about your volunteer experiences?
- What are some instances where you stepped outside your comfort zone?
