PhD Student
First, you'll need to reach out to your prospective professor. Then, a 15-minute presentation about your project will be followed by some questions, and you'll be interviewed by the professor along with their lab members. The interviewers will mainly consist of the post-doc and current PhD students in the group.
- Can you provide details about your project?
PhD Student
For a PhD student position, the main thing is having a good recommendation. I got mine from my former advisor which helped me get the position. If you are an international student, you will need GRE and TOEFL scores. You also need to submit 2 letters of recommendation and a Statement of Purpose (SOP). Having a high GRE score is also helpful if you want to get a TA or RA position.
- What are the key questions you addressed in your SOP?
- How did you present yourself in your SOP?
PhD Student
I had an interview with the PI over Zoom. We mostly talked about my previous research experience, things the group works on, and some other research in the area. It was mostly a high-level research conversation.
- Can you tell me about your previous research projects?
