Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Northeast Georgia Health System.
Registered Nurse
I had a chat with a recruiter, who was super nice and kept things pretty general. Then I talked to the nurse manager at Laurelwood, who asked some more specific but still fairly basic questions. They actually offered me the job right there!
- What draws you to working in mental health?
Registered Nurse
Sometimes hiring managers don't give equal or fair opportunities, especially when it comes to prior experience requirements for more desirable positions. I have years of experience in an acute care setting on a very demanding hospital floor. They'd tell me my interview was great, they liked me, and they'd follow up, but then I'd get an email saying they found someone more qualified. Then I found out that someone worked on the same floor as me and didn't have previous experience in the job I applied for. If they already had a favorite in mind, why waste my time coming in for an interview?
- Do you have experience in xyz?
Registered Nurse
The interview process was fast and direct. The questions focused on patient care and teamwork scenarios. The interviewer was nice and relaxed, making me feel at ease.
- Describe a challenging situation you've faced with a coworker as an RN and outline your response.
