Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at noon.
Associate Product Manager
So I had 4 interviews in total. First was with HR, then I had 3 technical interviews with the VPs of product. They were all really nice. The technical interviews had a guestimation and product design questions. Practicing with Exponent questions was a big help.
- Imagine you're launching a food delivery aggregator in Dubai. What's your estimate for daily orders?
Senior Product Manager
The interview process wasn't very structured. I was asked to block out a four-hour window, with the understanding that an interview invitation could arrive at any time. There was no HR involvement, and surprisingly, even employees in junior positions conducted some of the interviews. It seemed a bit unusual for a junior PM to be interviewing a candidate for a Senior Product Manager role.
- Regarding the product description page, what strategies would you propose to enhance the utilization of the share button, aiming to increase user traffic originating from shared links?
- Imagine you are tasked with designing a car. What specific considerations and features would you incorporate to cater to deaf users?
Product Manager
This was a really bad experience from the jump. They post openings on LinkedIn but it's just for show. No HR was involved at all. A PM was coordinating everything and using BCC for all communication. It felt like a huge company like TCS. They sent out assignments without even a preliminary call. Then they either ghost you or schedule a call. I got the call. The interviewer was the same PM who was BCCing everyone and seemed totally uninterested. I followed up a few days later and got a rejection email, also BCC'd and with no feedback. What a joke of a company and its people. The interview itself was good, and honestly, I feel lucky to have dodged a company where HR is absent and PMs are doing random work instead of making an impact.
