It was a many-step process. First, a recruiter screen. Then, a call with the hiring manager. After that, a live product case, followed by team interviews. There was another interview with the hiring manager and a final meeting with the CPO. The recruiter was nice and knew their stuff. But, I got some bad vibes about the team culture from the hiring manager, so I decided not to continue.

I interviewed with the team through multiple rounds, including live product design and strategy case studies. While it ultimately didn't work out, the recruiting team was fantastic throughout and even provided feedback and a follow-up conversation. It's great when companies treat people this way!

The process started with a phone screen, followed by an A/B testing exercise done over the phone. Then there was a 30-minute timed math test/business case. They also asked me to share product requirement documentation. The last stage was supposed to be an in-person interview, but I did the remote assessments instead. The company sounds interesting and is working on real problems, with a product that has potential. The product team seems to have autonomy in strategy and experimentation, fostering a test-and-learn culture, though there might be some team misalignment. Red flags included the timed case potentially not reflecting real-life scenarios and focusing too much on mental math under pressure, and the inappropriate request for company product documents without clear explanation or equal evaluation criteria. The recruiter was unresponsive and didn't explain the process or the need for information, quickly dismissing my candidacy.
