NoBroker Software Engineer Interview Questions

The interview process at NoBroker generally involves 4 to 5 stages spread over a week or two. It kicks off with an online coding challenge that tests your grasp of Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA). Following that, you'll go through two technical interviews. These will dive into live coding, low-level design, and either system architecture or frontend architecture, depending on the specific role you're applying for. After the technical evaluations, there's a managerial interview to discuss your past project experience and how you'd fit with the team. The process wraps up with an HR interview, which covers salary expectations and cultural alignment. The company really values strong problem-solving abilities, good design sense, and practical thinking throughout the process.

The whole process took 3 months and went through 3 stages. The interview was cancelled multiple times because the interviewer was busy and it was always done at the last minute. I cleared the first two rounds well, feeling confident. In the third round, there were technical questions with one problem statement. I answered most of them, except for 1-2 questions about let, var, and const logic. I know let and const, but only have a theoretical idea of var and used that. After the third round, I asked the HR about the next steps. He said he'd get the results in a day or two and if it wasn't good, there would be one more process. After 4 days, I called HR multiple times, but he didn't pick up. I texted him on WhatsApp, he saw it and left. Two weeks later, I emailed the nobroker team and within minutes got a reply saying I wasn't shortlisted because I don't know JS. I wonder how I cleared the first two rounds if I don't know JS. I'm willing to do a one-on-one session to show my knowledge in JS and React. They just want to waste your time. Stay away from these people; they'll just bring your morale down. If this is how they behave before joining, not picking up calls or answering messages, I invested my time and they should answer me.

The interview process started with a Hacker Earth screening round involving 3 programming problems. Clearing this meant moving to 2 face-to-face interviews. The coding round was quite simple, requiring a minimum of 1 correct solution out of 3 problems to advance. I wasn't prepared at all for the interviews and performed poorly as expected. The interviewers at NoBroker were nice and respectful. The only downside was the waiting time between rounds during the workday. Overall, it was a positive experience.
