So first up, we had this group assessment centre thing, with two tasks where we all had to work together. Then, there were individual interviews. They wanted to see how well we communicate, solve problems, and if we've got the right skills for the job. They also looked at teamwork, how we adapt, our leadership potential, and if we can think straight when things get stressful.

Applied via recruiter with my CV. Got invited to an assessment centre day that felt like most assessment centres. The day had: - An ice breaker and a general intro to the Graduate scheme. - A presentation from a previous Graduate about their specific role, talking about opportunities and skills learned. - 2 group tasks in groups of 3 or 4. You could ask organisers/HR questions if unsure, but they might not have all the answers. These tasks tested time management, organisation, leadership, decision making, listening, persuasion, problem solving, communication, and teamwork skills, plus the ability to perform under pressure. There wasn't a single right answer, but explaining and justifying your decisions was key. (MAKE SURE TO REGULARLY CHECK THE TIME YOURSELF ON YOUR OWN WATCH AS ASSESSORS CAN'T HELP WITH THIS) - After lunch, there was a 40-minute interview with an Engineering management team member. The main goal here is to show you're ambitious, eager to learn, and ready to take on responsibility. They aren't necessarily looking for someone with deep existing knowledge of a specific vehicle area right now, but rather someone motivated to succeed and grow continuously. Prepare lots of questions to ask during the day (like at lunch) and in the interview. They might not get to answer all of them. Demonstrating these qualities and the skills shown in the group tasks will likely make you a top performer at the assessment centre.
