First is a phone interview with a recruiter or the manager looking to hire. General questions about your resume are asked. Second you conduct an onsite interview where you're briefly asked more questions about your resume and then your are shown a muffler/exhaust tip and asked to describe what it is, and its functions. Then you are given a scenario where there was a quality issue with the muffler and how would you go about containing the problem, doing a quick fix to get the line back up and running and lastly how to ultimately solve the problem. Afterwards you are taken on a tour of the facility and meet the managers in your department.

Applied online with a cover letter, resume, and application. Got an email about an assessment centre, mentioning they'd cover hotel/travel expenses. No prep needed for the assessment centre, it was all group tasks with about 8-12 people split into 2-3 groups. Tasks were straightforward, like ranking survival items (shipwreck or cave scenario) or choosing a location for a new store. You get individual time for each task, then group discussion. They're not looking for right answers but your logic, teamwork, and influence skills. It'd help to ask a few questions about the role to stand out. The next stage was a presentation and interview in a very relaxed setting. The presentation was 5 minutes on a new topic of my choice, with no questions asked about it. This was followed by a standard interview.
