Tax Analyst
The interview process was pretty smooth and fast. It was well organized from beginning to end. There were three interviews: first, a chat with HR, then a meeting with some team members, and finally, a talk with the hiring manager. The questions were not too hard, mostly about my background, how I work, and if I’d be a good fit for the team and company culture. It all felt pretty clear and easy to go through.
- Regarding a project in Austria, a country without our legal entity, what steps would you take to minimize tax risks?
- Describe your experience.
- How would you describe your work style?
Cloud Software Engineer
The interview process started with a phone call from the recruiter, followed by an interview with the hiring manager, then a team interview, and finally an interview with the head of the department. Getting any feedback between stages took weeks, and my emails, phone calls, and WhatsApp messages often went unanswered. I had to chase for information about the next steps at every point. It took three months to get through these four stages, and in the end, there was no offer.
- Did you work on any easy leetcode coding problems?
- Were there other technical questions you were asked?
HRIS Manager
It was an energy and soul draining interview process ! I had SEVEN interviews and was interviewed by NINE people. Initially, I was fine to go through the whole process for me to better know the company, the role, the environment, and the people that I will be working with. Unfortunately, there were a lot of RED FLAGS along the way. - There was no formal EMAIL interview invite. Everything was through LinkedIn message. As a candidate, you would feel that it is not a real interview - They mentioned that relocation is supported and will not be an issue. In the end, they said that there will be some issues. Funny isn't it ? - Job description says Full Time-Permanent but then later on they changed it to a "Fixed Term" contract with a chance of becoming a permanent role - They asked the same typical functional-technical even behavioral questions from the 1st interview to the seventh. This is quite devastating as they would need more and more interviewer asking the same questions just to identify the right candidate. - The Director could not understand English that much hence there were some translators. There were some moments in which the director misunderstood the interview answers. - and many more ! On the other hand, some of them were very nice and I feel very welcomed. My recommendation is to revamp your interview process. Come up with a more logical yet impactful candidate interview experience. In the end, it was a blessing in disguise. Best of luck, NIO !
- Could you describe your typical functional and technical expertise?
- Tell me about a time you demonstrated strong behavioral skills.
Scrum Master
I was really excited to interview for a company I'd been following in the EV space for over 2 years. After an initial call with the recruiter, I was scheduled for a face-to-face interview with the hiring manager. I sensed things going downhill within the first 5 minutes. The interviewer clearly didn't care about me, and his communication skills were very low; I could barely hear or understand him, and I couldn't understand his accent. I explained how I've worn multiple hats in my career in SWE, QA, automation, etc., but he didn't seem to believe me. The interview continued, and when it was my turn to ask a question, I asked, "What do you feel about rumors of NIO getting de-listed in US?" He said, "That's not going to happen..." and then ranted about how NIO's technology is much better than Tesla's, even throwing out performance numbers. I found it funny because he didn't seem to know how companies get de-listed and wouldn't answer my question. It was a red flag, and I knew he wasn't moving forward with me, nor did I want him to.
- Could you explain the distinction between the roles of a Scrum Master and a Product Owner?
- Regarding the rumors of NIO potentially being de-listed in the US, what are your thoughts?
