Sales Development Representative
I had two rounds of interviews. The first one was a screening with Mikey, and it was really conversational and chill. He wanted to get a feel for my background, my sales experience, and why I'm looking to get into tech sales. The whole thing was put together well, they were upfront about everything, and it moved pretty fast. Mikey made it a comfortable atmosphere but still asked good questions that showed if I'd fit the culture and if I had what it takes for sales. Overall, it was a really good and professional experience.
- Tell me about how you deal with rejection and keep yourself driven in a sales position that involves a lot of outreach.
- How do you maintain your motivation when working in a high-volume sales environment?
Sales Development Representative
The interview process began with a Zoom call screening. This was followed by an on-ground panel interview with a Director, a Sales Supervisor, and a fellow SDR. During the on-ground interview, I was asked to give a presentation explaining my application and my reasoning for selecting one specific prospective customer from four real companies across different industries and sizes. I also had to prepare a mock email and a mock phone call for the chosen prospect.
- Have you sold SaaS via phone or virtual channels like text, email, Instagram, or WhatsApp?
- Describe your approach to handling customer objections during a phone sales call.
- What makes you the ideal candidate for this role?
Sales Development Representative
First, I had a 30-minute screening with a corporate recruiter, Mikey. He was really nice and professional, and it wasn't too stressful! Then, I had an on-site interview with two sales managers. They were also very professional, which I appreciated. The interview included a presentation I had to prepare beforehand and a mock sales call with them. It's important to prepare well for interviews, be honest, and have integrity, especially during your presentation. This is your chance to show them your knowledge and how you approach business development. They really want to see how you think and, importantly, how you respond to feedback.
- Can you explain your motivation for applying at this specific time?
