Assistant Manager
The process might involve behavioral questions about leadership, problem-solving, and communication. You could also be asked to present solutions for hypothetical work situations. Some places might do skills tests or check references before making a final offer. This whole thing usually takes about one to two weeks.
- Can you introduce yourself?
Assistant Manager
The store was a bit rough around the edges, but pretty tidy when I got there. I talked to the store manager first. She was awesome and made me feel comfortable. Then, she set up a second chat over the phone with another store manager. This one was also really nice and professional. When the store manager called with the offer, I was shocked at how low the pay was. She said that's all she could get approved by the district manager. Later, she let me know she really did try to get me more money because she knew I deserved it, but the district manager was firm on the salary for the role.

Assistant Manager
I went to the store to drop off my resume, but then they told me to go to the website to apply. I then had a meeting with a manager, and after that, a second meeting with a DSM. The DSM meeting was pretty laid back.
- Can you tell me about your strengths and weaknesses?
