Applied online and heard back from the hiring manager about two weeks later for a phone interview. It was a great chat with some unique questions, which made me hopeful. The very next day, another recruiter contacted me to schedule an interview with my potential direct manager. They seemed keen to hire quickly. After the first interview, the recruiter confirmed a time for the second interview within another day. During the second interview, I noticed they were more focused on team fit than my actual experience, which was interesting. The recruiter then set up a third interview and mentioned there would be just one more after that, with an offer expected the following week. The third interview went well, and the recruiter suggested a final interview, possibly the same day. This made me think I had a good shot at the offer since they were eager to wrap things up. I provided my availability, but then heard nothing back. I followed up the next day to confirm they got my availability and reiterate my interest, but still no response. The rest of the week went by with no communication at all, a big change from the daily contact. I assume they offered the job to someone else. It's disappointing to get ghosted after reaching the final stages, especially for a communications role, after four weeks of preparation. I would have preferred a simple rejection email, but being ignored like this is really disrespectful. This company needs to improve its recruitment process.
