Got a call for a tech lead position at NICE from a consultancy firm. The interview was scheduled for the upcoming weekend. Interview involved a written test with some coding and DS questions followed by face to face with Tech panel from Israel. After technical round had HR discussion with both Indian HR team as well as Israeli team on the same day. Till this everything was very smooth. But after this experience got way too bitter. Salary negotiation took more than 3 months before HR finally agreed to the pre-interview discussed terms. Post this they generated an offer letter with Software Engineer rather than Tech Lead position. The reason that they give was due to less experience they cannot offer the discussed position. For such a reputable company the reason seems absurd as why agree before interview for the Tech lead position and deviate post interview. I agreed on the position front. After this, they generated an offer letter with joining date that was falling within my notice period. After discussing this with the HR team multiple times, all they did was give an oral assurance that joining date will not be an issue. They never agreed upon giving written confirmation and so I didn't resign. After all this fuss they gave me a call some days later. By that time my joining date will fall in 2nd quarter. Per NICE policy, I will not be eligible for that year appraisal cycle as one must join in 1st quarter. I wasn't expecting such long and bad hiring process from a reputable company like NICE.

The interview process for the Tech Lead role at NICE's InContact division in Hinjewadi, Pune, was quite straightforward. It started with an online test. Following that, there were three face-to-face rounds – a technical, a managerial, and an HR round – all conducted on the same day. However, the offer letter took about 35 days to arrive. A thorough background check was conducted, requiring proof of payslips and current offers. Despite having another offer with a higher salary, they extended an offer with a lower amount, citing reasons like 'more exposure'. Generally, NICE Ltd. is a product company that offers salaries comparable to service-based companies and doesn't seem to prioritize retaining talent due to compensation.

The process was awesome, with a total of 5 rounds for me. It was a really amazing experience. You should have deep knowledge about your tech to clear all rounds. Overall experience was awesome. HR helps to move further and they were treated very nicely.
