Candidate interview experiences
First-hand accounts from people who interviewed at Niantic.
Producer
The interview process for this role involved three main parts: an introduction to the role, questions about Pokemon, and a discussion of your project management experience. It was conducted remotely via a video call, and overall, it was a positive experience. This is a contractor position and doesn't have the potential for conversion to a full-time role.
- Which Pokemon is your favorite and what are your reasons?
- Describe your project management experience.
- Could you detail your experience with project management?
Producer
The process was pretty standard, with a common question asked. It was quite straightforward and didn't involve any follow-up questions. The interviewer was running late, and after the interview, there was no follow-up communication, like a letter or any feedback, which was quite unusual. It was frustrating due to the lack of transparency. Despite this, the interviewer was friendly.
- Where do you get your news about XR and tech developments?
Producer
The interview process at Niantic was transparent, committed, and attentive. After I spoke with the hiring manager, I went through a series of interviews to meet the team I'd be working with. Everyone was friendly and asked challenging questions that showed I'd learn and grow. Leadership shared their challenges, and recruiting accommodated my tight schedule and questions.
- Looking back at a past project, what would you have improved?
- What are some games you currently play?
