The interview happened soon after I applied and was really focused on the project I applied for. It was a lot about my technical skills, especially with the tech I'd used before, and how I'd tackle the problem using algorithms. They dug deep, asking about different parts of the project and possible issues, like considering how both patients and doctors would use it. They were really open to talking things through instead of just asking questions. I also got to ask about the daily work and how the team is, and they were honest about it. Even though they said I was a top candidate, I didn't get an offer because of funding. They were upfront about it, which I appreciated. They could only fund one position and went with other projects.

After applying, I had to write a short paragraph explaining my interest in the job and the NHS. Then, there was a video interview with about 4 questions where I had limited thinking time before recording. Following this (or possibly before, I'm not totally sure), there were numerical and verbal reasoning tests. Passing that led to an all-day assessment centre. Bring food because it'll probably last longer than you think! At the assessment centre, we did team activities, another numerical reasoning test, and had an interview with two people.
