The interview was virtual and I met with two interviewers. The questions were mainly competency-based, focusing on my experience relevant to the role's requirements. I was given a take-home task that I presented at the beginning of the interview. There was also time for me to ask questions at the end. The total interview time was 45 minutes.

It was pretty straightforward. I got a datasheet with NHS 111 call frequencies and had to analyze how A&E referrals changed after a new policy where trained professionals handled calls, compared to before when it was less qualified staff. I had about 20-30 minutes to prep a short presentation (under 5 mins) explaining the data changes and what analysis I'd do to estimate the link between A&E referrals and the new policy. I think I suggested a fuzzy regression discontinuity design (FRDD). After that, it was a typical interview with questions from a list, but they didn't really follow up, which made it feel a bit dry and less engaging than others.

The interview was chill and friendly. There was a scheduling hiccup (not the interviewers' fault, it was an agency thing) but they were still super nice. The interview asked questions about the skills listed in the application. Nothing really unexpected. I spoke with two interviewers. After the interview, there was a quick (20 min) math and Excel test. The computer was a small laptop with a trackpad and I didn't have my own calculator, so I had to use the computer's calculator. This meant I only got halfway through the last question when time ran out. They're strict with time. Make sure you save your test document in the correct folder.
