Account Manager
HR called me first and then I had two lunch meetings with the hiring manager. After that, I had separate telepresence meetings with the regional sales director and the VP of Sales.
- Given that I came with a referral and industry knowledge, the questions were very generic. I can't offer much detail here.
Account Manager
I met with 10 people total, which included the hiring manager, some colleagues, folks from engineering and project management, the VP of sales, and even the CEO. The travel involved a 5-hour round trip drive to get to the interview location. The office itself was professionally set up, though not particularly striking. It wasn't a chaotic place to work, but it seemed like a high-pressure environment for the employees there.
- Would you be open to working in our physical office location, as opposed to a virtual setup?
Account Manager
The interview process took about 5 months. It started when an HR Recruiter contacted me and we set up a phone interview for the following week. The first interview went well, and the recruiter said they would present my resume to the Sales Director. I never heard back from the Sales Director, but the recruiter stayed in touch. Eventually, the recruiter told me the position had been filled and they were only just informed. Then, they said the new Sales Manager would be interviewing me. I waited for weeks again. Finally, the recruiter scheduled a phone interview with the Sales Manager for a few weeks out. More weeks passed, and the interview eventually happened. Since the Sales Manager was new, I felt they were under a lot of pressure to hire the 'perfect' person to make themselves look good. They seemed very cautious and wanted to make absolutely sure they hired the right candidate. After the interview, they said they'd be in touch, but I heard nothing. I tried following up with the Sales Manager directly, but got no response. When I tried reaching out to the recruiter again, they no longer worked there. I can see why, the whole place seems disorganized.
- The HR Recruiter was wonderful and sold me on Nexus IS.
- The Sales Manager on the other hand made me think twice...
