Sales Development Representative
It was a really tough and demanding interview process. The people were amazing though, and it was a great overall experience. Even if I hadn't gotten the job, I would've been thankful for the chance to go through such a great interview and meet the management team. You definitely need to know a lot and be really solid on your knowledge of the Display Industry and have done your research on AdRoll. Be outgoing and be yourself, and most importantly, don't over-prepare. It's important to think for yourself, which is what AdRoll is looking for. They want self-starters and people who can respond and think on the spot.
- Tell me about your knowledge of the Display Industry.
- What did you find out from your research on AdRoll?
- Can you introduce yourself and be genuine?
Sales Development Representative
The process started with a recruiter screening, followed by a hiring manager interview. Then there was an assignment, and finally 3 interviews with different team members. The recruiter was consistently late for our calls, which I found unprofessional as good candidates usually don't do that. She never explained or apologized for it. Some interviewers were very unengaging, and one even had their partners interrupt the interview. It was the most difficult interview I've ever had.
- What is your motivation for joining this particular company?
- What are your reasons for pursuing a career in sales?
Sales Development Representative
The interview process was great, really transparent and informative. About a week after a referral, a recruiter called to set up the first chat. This was a phone call to see how much I'd researched the company and Adtech, and to go over my CV. The recruiter also talked about the salary and bonus, and what to expect next. I felt good after that call. The next morning, I got an email saying I was moving on and was given a case study to prepare for a mock pitch call the following week. The mock pitch was the hardest part; even with research, I felt I missed some things. My advice: stay confident and keep asking questions, even if it feels like it's going badly. I thought I'd failed but got an email the next morning to say I'd made it to the on-site interviews. They gave me the names of my interviewers, so I'd recommend looking them up. Before the on-site, I had another call with the recruiter who shared a lot of info and answered my questions. The on-site involved three 45-minute interviews back-to-back, each with a different focus (experience, culture, etc.). Afterwards, the recruiter said she'd get back to me by the end of the week. On Friday, I got an email to schedule a call for Monday. I was nervous because of reviews saying they call regardless of the news, but it was good news! I was really impressed with how much information they shared and how comfortable all the employees made me feel about AdRoll.
- Can you share an instance of facing rejection and how you handled it?
